SSM3515 settings

Hi there,

I am using the sigma studio to do some settings for the SSM3515 with a 4ohm SPK. I was able to get a 5W SPK output (~4.5Vrms) when driving the SSM3515 at 12V PVDD, analog gain = 12.6. The amplifier 12V is driven by a DCDC with input source from a Li-Ion battery.

1. When I tried to increase the DAC gain there seems to be a clamping effect which doesn't allow me to go up to 10W. Is this due to the "LIMITER AND BATTERY TRACKING THRESHOLD CONTROL"? I have tried to disable the limiter and mute but it doesn't seem to do anything?

2. How should we set the VBAT threshold and the slope ratio to suit the design?

Is there a guideline or recommendation on how to set the parameters for a 4ohm speaker to achieve 5W rated,10W peak SPK output?

Thank you.

Regards,

HS
