Application note AN-1140 describes the necessary processing to enable beamforming with two microphones. The beamforming algorithm described there is rather simple and is the same thing that is used in the video you saw.
These other discussions on EngineerZone also describe how to simulate and set up a beamforming array with two microphones and the ADAU1761. The latest version of SigmaStudio also includes a beamforming algorithm that does the processing and shows the spatial response, just like the simulator described in the first link below.
