ADMP441 phase

Hello,

we are currently working on a project where the phase of a sampled signal is important. We are planing of using ADMP441 for this purpose. We have a couple of questions:

1: Are there any number saying how accurate the signal is sampled with respect to the phase? If two microphones are locate nearby each other will the sampled signal be in phase?

2: When two microphones are coupled in I2S L/R configuration, when are the microphones sampled. Synchronous (when WS goes low) or with respect to the WS signal (WS going low = sampling left; WS going high = sampling right)?

Kind regards,

  • Hello,

I apologize for the delay in replying to this question; I did not see it posted here.

The ADMP441s are synchronized with the WS signal, so if the two mics are sharing the same clocks, then they will be in sync. If they are enabled separately, there may be some difference between the parts while the internal data paths are flushed, but that will only take about 0.35 ms after start up.
