EVAL-ADAU1781 no sound

I am working with the EVAL-ADAU1781Z-ND board trying to applicate beamforming.

However, I don't even get an output signal on my headphone output with one microphone. All jumpers and switches are on their default settings and I hear something if I use the White Noise signal in Sigma Studio instead of the stereo input.

The settings are: S3-OSC, IN SELECT-ST_IN, Jumpers J1, J10, J11, J13, J14, ST IN: stereo microphone.

In Sigma Studio I only have Input, Output and a Volume Control (adjustable gain), but as I mentioned I can hear the white noise.

Thanks for every possible solution!

    Hello Christian,

Sorry for the delay in the response.

Have you worked out this problem yet? To help you I need to know what you signal input you are trying to use? There are some built-in MEMS mics, there is a stereo line input and balanced mic inputs and then the digital mic input. The setting you are using is for the stereo line is which takes two single ended inputs from J19.

Then send me what you are doing in your SigmaStudio schematic.

  • Hello Dave,

thanks for the answer. The problem seems to be solved. I raised the gain of the input, enabled the Mic Input and are now working with external microphones. I just couldn't find the settings to enable the microphones and didn't expect that the white noise is so much louder than the MEMS mic's signals. Now I'm trying to applicate the beamforming.
