Audio Codec with AEC support (SR-175878-N7C7F0)

Hi,

I am looking for an Audio Codec with AEC feature.
  • Should support two way audio communication
  • Atleast have one audio in and one audio out (both analog type)
  • AEC support
  • Audio IN - 1 no.s
  • Audio Out - 1 no.s
Please suggest a suitable part.
  • Hello Manmohan CT,

You will not find a codec that does any of this. All of our codecs are just converters but we do have some SigmaDSPs with built in converters.

Since I am not sully aware of all the details of your project I will suggest you look into two very different parts.

The ADAU1452/1467 family of parts are very powerful but there are no converters built in so you would need a codec to go with it. This product has a developed AEC/NR algorithm that is available in trial form and licensing for production.

The ADAU1787 has a fast DSP that has super low group delay for analog to fast DSP to analog signal path. It also has a SigmaDSP and lots of other hardware features.  It is really interesting part that is designed for ANC, active noise cancellation applications. So the use would be to control the filter coefficients of the fast DSP with the SigmaDSP. We do not currently have any developed ANC applications available so you would have to develop it yourself or find a third party to do the development.

So have a look and see what you think.

  • Hi Dave,

    Thank you for the reply.

Actually i am searching for audio codec with AEC capability.

    Application - IP camera

We need two way audio communication. We have very less space in board. We cannot consider DSP and a separate codec.  Also we need analog audio in and out support.

    Thank you

  • Hello Manmohan CT

Then have a good look at the ADAU1787.

It is a VERY small device and everything is built in except the EEPROM and some support circuitry.

You should be able to do some simple AEC with it. The SigmaDSP library should have an NLMS filter in it. This is a newer part and I am not certain exactly what algorithms have been exported to it.

  • Hi Dave,

    Thanks for the reply

i will look into it. Slight smile
