A2B Self Configuration via EEPROM

Is it possible for an A2B system to self-configure on power up via an EEPROM?

Appendix C of the AD242x Technical Reference Manual talks about storing bus configuration information in an EEPROM.

That said, it seems like you still need an external host to read the configuration from EEPROM and use that information to bring up the A2B bus.

Ultimately, I'm wondering if an external host is needed to initialize/configure an A2B bus? Or can the transceivers self-initialize?

    Although A2B has launched to the broad market, it is not yet supported through Engineer Zone. We plan to launch an Engineer Zone forum for A2B later in 2020 so please watch this space. In the mean time, please make contact with your local ADI sales office to discuss A2B support.

    As Joe says, support for A2B on eZone has not yet been rolled out. However, the short answer to your question is no. Processors on A2B nodes can self boot, but some type of master/host running an A2B stack is required to enumerate and initialize the bus.
