I've got an AC'97 stream I'd like to extract the audio from to send to a Bluetooth module. It appears there's plenty of module choices using I2S, though I'm not wedded to the format if something else would be better.
Someone suggested a cheap low power DSP with two audio ports.
Does Analog have any parts that would interface with my AC'97 stream and let me DMA between that and an I2S output?
You will have to go to a SHARC or Blackfin processor to decode an AC'97 stream. The SigmaDSP cannot do it. Search the forum for this topic, I did a quick search and found some info:
So search the forum and if you do not find an answer I suggest you post this question on the Blackfin space on this forum.
Thanks for getting back to me. I'll investigate that.
I assume for either one of these options I won't find anything with integrated program and data memory like a microcontroller, and I'll be adding my own program Flash and possibly RAM?
I actually am not that familiar with those products enough to confidently answer your question. Sorry about that.
