This is not so much a question as it is pointing out a clear error in the Feb 2025 Hartley Oscillator student zone schematics. This is especially a problem for content intended for beginners to learn from. The schematic is given twice, each time with the base shorted to the emitter - in which case the transistor acts as a diode. I believe that the connection dot that I have noted with the blue circle needs to be removed. This is in-line with the text that says that the feedback is connected to the emitter via C2.

A previous version of this circuit is located here: https://wiki.analog.com/university/courses/electronics/comms-lab-hartley-osc The schematics in that location have no connection dots at all, which is also bad practice, but at least it does not imply a base-emitter short.
Indeed, there should be no dot. I noticed the webpage does not have the ‘dot’ shorting the base to emitter, while the PDF does have the dot. As a side note, it would have been nice to see a two-trace picture comparing the emitter voltage and collector voltage as evidence of the ‘in phase’ relationship mentioned in the third paragraph.
