I see I need a mIDAS-Link to debug the Analog Devices ADuC7024. What is this and where do I get it?
The mIDAS-Link is an interface box that converts from USB to JTAG. It is basically the same as a J-Link from Segger (www.segger.de) but the mIDAS-Link can only be used on Analog Devices ARM based ADuC... family of parts while the J-Link can be used for parts from many other manufacturers as well. The mIDAS-Link connects to the ADuC... via a 20 pin connector and to the PC via USB. The mIDAS-Link is designed to work with the IAR EWARM tools and the Keil uVision tools.
The mIDAS-Link is only available from Analog Devices or its distributors bundled in a QuickStartPlus kit. See
You will notice that no QuickStartPlus kit is available for the ADuC7024 so you will have to get a similar kit such as the EVAL-ADUC7026QSPZ which has the same features as the ADuC7024 plus some additional ones. You can either do your development with that kit or get the additional developmment board EVAL-ADUC7024QSZ. The mIDAS-Link works with all the Analog Devices ARM based ADuC... family QuickStart and QuickStartPlus development boards.
