has anybody experience with a RTOS on ADuC7024? Does it make sense for a small monitoring application to use a RTOS on this small device? Simple endless loop + interrupts to handle real-time stuff shouldn't it be be OK? Any other idea/suggestion?
There are some RTOS out there with a code space overhead of as little as 2kB. Ther is one from IAR, one from Segger, one from uCos and I expect the one from Keil should also be small. I have not actually used any of these in a project but they should serve your needs.
Anybody out there who has expierience with a RTOS on ADuC7xxxx ???
Nobody around having used a RTOS on a ADuC7xxx ???
I have used the RTX kernel on the ADuC703x series without any major issues.
It is part of the Keil compiler and can be compiled in using the Options >> Target >> RTX Kernel.
Keil offer comprehensive help within the compiler and it supports all the typical functions you would expect from a RTOS.
Thanks for feedback.
I have been looking around for a open source solution and found FreeRTOS and TNKernel
My favorite actually is the TNKernel, but FreeRTOS has a branch called SafeRTOS for SIL3 level applications which may be of interest for some projects.
Anybody here having used one of this RTOS in a real project?
