I am just becoming familiar with the ADuC842. To speed things up I am hoping someone can instruct me on how I might be able to upload the firmware off of a device that is already programmed. I am supporting a customer and have 2 systems that act differently. I suspect the firmware is different. If I can retrieve the firmware from each unit I should be able to perform a bit/bit comparison.
Thanks in advance
Hi Robert,I moved your question to its proper community 8052 Core Products.Regards,Goz
For you to be able to download a firmware on the ADuC842, you will be needing the WSD software tool provided by ADI. I have placed the link in here for your reference. LINK
Once files have been extracted, open the WSD.exe tool and run it. Ensure you configure the correct com port together with your UART cable. After which, press on serial download pin and pulse on the reset pin(For you to be able to go download mode), once done you will be able to connect with the device start on downloading a firmware.
I hope this helps Robert. Thanks!
I believe there may be a misunderstanding. I don't want to download I want to upload. I don't want to change the device I want to see what's on the device
There is a solution to do this I believe, unfortunately there are no available hardware and software for this on our side. You can check this document for your reference on parallel programming, this is dedicated for ADuC8 products.
I hope this document helps Robert. Thanks
