The source/sink current (±40mA) out of or into the driver is provided from the VDD/VSS supplies respectively. The DLV/DHV/DTV input levels are simply low-current voltage references for sourcing or terminating the driver to a particular voltage. The driver can be considered as a high-speed switching amplifier that provides preprogrammed, buffered voltages.
