Why is the ADuM3190/4190 supply voltage range different than the operating voltage range?

Why is the ADuM3190/4190 supply voltage range different than the operating
voltage range?

Answer

The supply voltage range is a wide 3V to 20V through the use of an internal
voltage regulator that inputs voltages up to 20V and has a 3V regulated
output. There are 3V regulators on each side of the ADuM3190/4190 which supply
the precision circuits of the isolated error amplifier.
