Question
Can I use the ADuM3190/ADuM4190 as an isolated op amp to convert a 4-20mA
signal and how would it work?
Answer
You could use a 75 ohm input resistor to convert the 4 – 20mA signal to a 0.3V
to 1.5V signal, which would fit the input common mode range for the
ADuM3190/ADuM4190. The Op Amp can be configured as a unity gain amplifier to
deliver an isolated 0.3V to 1.5V output from EAOUT. You will need to look at
the offset, gain and other specifications to see how the ADuM3190/ADuM4190 will
perform in your application.
