From opamp AD8036 I would like to know what happens when the clamping voltagevh exceeds 3.9v, Say vh is set to 5v .

The absolute limitation on Vh and Vl are the supply voltages i.e. +/-5V if theamplifier is running on +/-5V.
There is an relative additional limitation wrt Vin. |Vh - Vin| < 6.3V. That
means that if you set Vh at 5V then you must be sure that Vin never drops below
-1.3V.
If you exceed this limit then we will not guarantee that the device won't be
damaged.
