During the compensation process, can I connect the +5V of the power supply directly to the VDD of the MAX1452 signal conditioner?
No. The signal conditioner's VDD must be connected through the KEY so that power to the signal conditioner can be controlled by software. This connection is required for synchronization and to speed up the compensation process by avoiding the nine seconds wait time for every voltage read through a DMM.
