Is there any advantage in using the MAX1452's offset TC DAC and FSOTC DAC in addition to the lookup tables?

Yes. First-order temperature error can be corrected by loading proper values into the offset TC DAC and FSOTC DAC. Then, only the higher order temperature errors remain to be corrected by the OFF and FSO lookup tables. This will result in a significantly higher temperature compensation resolution. However, in most applications, using only the FSO and OFF lookup tables does yield the expected results.
