AD8337 supply

I'm trying to simulate on LTSPICE an AGC loop made by components whose supply is 3.3V max. After discovered here that my original choice for VGA, AD8330, has convergence problems on LTSPICE, I found interesting for me the AD8337 component, whose supply range is at least 5 V from the datasheet.

On LTspice however, I was able to test it and use it also with 3.3 V, without seeing any difference from 5V. Was those SPICE simulations reliable? Can I use AD8337 with 3.3V supply?

    Thanks for the question.

    SPICE models are as reliable as the person who writes the model makes them. They are really a collection of matrix solutions, equations, specifications, etc. and other intangibles, they are not real.

    Our data sheets are released with information about the actual part, so you need to study the data sheet as well as utilize such tools as SPICE models. The AD8337 is designed for dual supplies with a ground based common, and the minimum supply voltage is +/-2.5V. If all you have is 3..3V, then there are a lot of dc-dc converters to provide the required operating voltages.
