Differential Input Voltage

Question

Hello, 
 
 Iam curious if the AD8212 can handle Differential Input Voltage that is greater than the Table 1 specified 500mV number? 
 
 Note: iam using this device in high voltage operation with an external PNP rated at +140V 
 
 I am expecting a current spike that will cause they Diff voltage seen at the input pins to be ~800mV. ( iam more interested in surviving this rather than actually sensing the current) 
 
 What happens if this is applied to the AD8212?

Hello Techlee , As can be seen on the part's datasheet, 500mV is the maximum input differential limit. I would not recommend having differential input voltages higher than what is specified on the datasheet because this could potentially damage the part. Regards, Paul
