I have used this IC AD8436 for my application. I have connected the IC in the dual supply configuration as per given in the data sheet. Now, the problem is that I am not getting output at OUT pin in the IC
My inputs are:
Supply : +15 and -15V
Input signal : 200mV, 26Hz signal
What can be the possible reasons, or there is any pin to turn ON the RMS core part of the IC.
Hi Upreti ,
Good day. Can you specify the schematic you have used in your setup so we can better understand your issue? Thank you.

Gilbeys
The IC is connected in the schematic in following manner:

The input and output are indicated in the figure. I am getting input at RMS pin of IC, but at OUT pin no output is coming.
Hi Gilbeys,
I got stuck at this phase of development. As already explained, i am getting the output from Input buffer that is at pin no. 4 of the IC. After that this pin connected to RMS core input through series capacitor of value 4.7 uF/ 25V. This capacitor is of ceramic/non-polar category. Whether, polar capacitors are mandatory for this stage?
Even, i have also used non-polar/ceramic capacitor for CAVG i.e. 10 uF/25V also. Whether here also polar capacitor is mandatory, please confirm.
How can i verify that IC RMS core is working correct? If required, i can share the input, output waveforms found at each stage.
Your recommendation will be a great help.
Hi Upreti ,
Good day. Based on the schematic you shared, it seems you have followed the part's typical application and I don't see any issue on that. If it is possible, can you share the waveforms? To check if the RMS core is working, you can use the test circuit from the datasheet:
Also, here is an application circuit as a reference for using the AD8436. Thank you.

Hi Gilbeys,
Thanyou for your help.
By reading your application note and all stuffs my problem is solved and my PCB is working fine now.
Thanks
