LT1122CS8#PBF connect

Thread Summary

The user asked about connecting unused pins 1, 5, and 8 of the LT1122CS8#PBF op-amp. Pins 1 and 5 can be left floating if the Vos Trim function is not needed. Pin 8 can be connected to the positive supply to increase slew rate and bandwidth by 25%, or a 15kohm resistor to GND can be used to reduce them by 25% and improve phase margin and capacitive load handling.

Hi,

I want to use LT1122CS8#PBF to design my circuit, I simulated it in software. I only used 2,3,4,6,7 pins. I would like to ask how to connect 1,5,8 pins? May I connect them directly to GND? Because I think I don't need and trim function.

Best,

Junzhe

  • Hello ,

Pins 1 and 5 can be left floating if you are not going to use the Vos Trim function. As for pin 8 (Speed Boost/Overcomp pin), you can connect this pin to the positive supply if you want to increase the slew rate and the bandwidth by 25% at the expense of reducing the phase margin by approximately 18 degrees. Conversely, connecting a 15kohm resistor from pin 8 to GND reduces the slew rate and bandwidth by 25%, but it improves the phase margin and capacitive load handling (up to 800pF).

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Paul
