Hi, ADI expert
I am now preparing to use the ad8616 in a PID control application, the design simulation is as follows, the output VF3 is almost 0, I think if the positive phase (thermistor feedback voltage, Rth voltage) and reverse phase (reference voltage) of U2 are 1.5V, through PID adjustment, my understanding: its output should also be 1.5V, I don't know if this is the case, I mainly want to ask if there is a problem with the PID control circuit with the op amp, I hope to solve the doute, thank you!
Hi Licunxu,
Thanks for reaching out regarding the query for the AD8616.
For the circuit above I think the configuration itself the standard PID controller circuit. But I want to make sure that the amplifier itself is stable using the values used. Have you tried running it on AC analysis? were you able to get the right pole and zero values on the configuration?
If you can provide the specification you need for the PID controller we can help you optimize the circuit and choose the right components for it. You may also want to look at this article https://www.analog.com/en/technical-articles/hfan0820-how-to-control-and-compensate-a-thermoelectric-cooler-tec.html as it has a section for the PID controller circuit on setting up the poles and zero of the controller. Hope the article helps.
Thank you!
Best Regards,
Dann
