    I found out from the data sheet that the DAC output is updated on the falling edge of SYNC.
    

    I thought that one SYNC would advance the register value by one like in FIG1.
    However, looking at the equation and the explanatory text above it, I thought that one SYNC would cause the register to rotate once, as shown in Fig2.

      Hi   thank you for catching this. The text should say "rising edge" -- the original figure is correct. The DAC pointer and OUT both update on rising edge of SYNC.
