LTC1442 Dual Comparator, LTSpice simulation

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTC1442IS8#TRPBF

Hi Team,

In a project, I am using LTC1442 as a window comparator. I have simulated the model in LTSpice. When Out_A and Out_B combined, output is swinging between 2.32V and 3.3V instead of 0 to 3.3V (V- and V+).  This happens only when Out_A and Out_B are connected together.

Regards

Suresh

  • Hello:

Reading the LTC1442 datasheet it would appear that the two outputs are CMOS and not open drain. So you can't wire OR/AND them together (short). See the pin descriptions on page 9 of the datasheet:

OUT A (Pin 1): Comparator A CMOS Output. Swings from
    V to V + . Output can source up to 40mA and sink 5mA

OUT B (Pin 8): Comparator B CMOS Output. Swings from
    V to V + . Output can source up to 40mA and sink 5mA.
