AD8054 Voltage Stabiliser application

Hi,

I have a customer using the AD8054 in a voltage stabiliser application.  It is configured as a voltage follower :-

0-5V on the +ve pin.  -ve pin connected to the output.  On the output he has two series resistors 5Kohm and 10Kohm to get 3.3V at the divider.

He is seeing a wide variation on the output voltage of the Op Amp with some devices outputting 4.39V.  Other devices, deemed "good" see 4.98V.

Is this variation at the output of the OpAmp normal ?

Any comments/suggestions welcome.

    Hi Andy,

    The AD8054 is specified to operate on +3 V, +5 V or +5 V supplies. It has an input voltage range capability of 200 mV headroom below the negative supply rail and 1 V headroom below the positive supply rail. With his application, an input (0-5V) is beyond the input voltage range with the specified supplies. If you go beyond this range the amplifier will not be able operate properly, it is why you are seeing different outputs in your evaluation.

    Below are the specified range of input voltage with the respective supply.

    You can refer to Selection Table for All Op Amps for more amplifiers that will suit best on your application.
