finding the output impedance of non-inverting amplifier

I am using AD704 to make a non-inverting amplifier. A series 50ohm resistor is placed from the output of the IC to the output node of the package. In circuit, the resistor measures 50ohms. When tested in No-load and 50% loaded condition (as recommended by some websites) anomalous readings are obtained.

What is the correct setup for measuring output impedance?

  • Hi Sabooj,

Figure 25 below from the AD704 datasheet should give you an idea of the output impedance of the amplifier. We can assume that it is relatively small.

How did you take your measurement and what readings were you getting? Why do you need this figure in your measurements?

    Thanks!

    Kris
