AD841 Short-Circuit Current Limit

Question

Hi 
 Let me ask an operation amplifier AD841, please. I aimed at figure 11 of Datasheet(Rev. C | Page 7 of 16) . Would "Short-Circuit Current Limit" break an operation amplifier? For example when making them connect output of an operation amplifier in 20 ℃, what would -OUTPUT CURRENT 100mA mean? Is that the electric current an operation amplifier outputs? Or is that the electric current the moment an operation amplifier burned out(or Junction Temperature +175°C )?

Hi Mochi, 
 Figure 11 shows the relationship between the maximum current that AD841 could output vs junction temperature. You will see that the short-circuit current limit decreases linearly with increase in junction temperature, which is from -60degC to 125degC (the specified operating range of AD841). So, at 20degC, the MAXIMUM current that the part can source is 100mA, you can not go higher than that at this temperature. Another thing that it decreases with junction temperature is that because of power dissipation, as junction temp increases the Power Dissipation increases. 
 Anyway, why are you interested in this specification? Could you tell me the intended application? Thank you!
