About DIS and DGND of AD8024

Dear all,

I want to use without disabling four amplifier in AD8024.

Although DIS-pin is connect to DGND-pin, is it necessary to connect DGND-pin to voltage level fixed somewhere ?

For example, is it VCC or VEE ?

Is it no good only by connecting DIS-pin to DGND-pin ?

Best Regards,

DMN

  • Hi, DMN.

I think that AD8024 will enable all the amplifiers if the Disable pin is connected to DGND. I also think that there's no way to enable just one or two amplifier and disable the others because the disable pin acts as the power off or on of all the amplifiers and not of a certain amplifier.

Regarding DGND, for single supplies DGND and VEE can be set to 0V. For dual supplies, DGND can be set between VCC and VEE. DGND is only a reference of all the voltages so the part does not know where you connect this thus the part only knows where each pin is in relation to other pins. Just take into consideration your input voltage range and output voltage range if use other than the supplies specified in the datasheet.

I'll still verify this to the applications engineer in case the part acts differently as the other amplifiers.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi, DMN.

As verified, the Disable pin is tied to all amplifiers so it's either you turn on or off all amplifiers.

As for the DGND, you may tie it to analog ground since every circuit has analog ground.

  • Dear Anna,

    Thank you for the reply.

I will connect DIS and DGND to 0V.
