AD8418A, AD8417 EMI filter

Hi all,

According to the datasheet of AD8418A and AD8417, these devices have EMI filter but there are no specs of this filter.

Then I'd like to know following points.

  1. What is the detail of these EMI filter?
  2. What is the amount of EMIRR(EMI Rejection Ratio) of these devices? Are there any data describing it?

Could you tell me above things?

    We have an EMI data for AD8418 but I don't know if this also applies to AD8418A. For AD8417, I have not found any on our database.

    I had attached the EMI data of AD8418 here. I think this is closer to the AD8418A. For the meantime you can refer to this.

    As a side note, adding external filters is still better even though the parts have built-in EMI filters. So if you will be adding external filters in AD8418, it should focus in the range of 1MHz to 100MHz because based on the attachment the filter is not good in filtering EMI in this range.

    Once I received the data for AD8418A and AD8417, I'll send it to you.

    I await data for AD8417.

    Additionally, I don't know what are quantities(EST-STRESS, ACTUAL, SIGGEN, and FWD-PWR) stand for in your data because I am unfamiliar with EMI testing.

    Then could you tell me about these quantities?

  • The additional waveforms  include the level of the signal generator creating the interference and the level of the reflected power.  These are monitored to make sure the test was done correctly.

    EST-STRESS- is the estimated stress at the input of the device being tested

    Actual- is the output of the device being tested

    SIGGEN- is the measured level of the signal generating the interference

    FWD-PWR- is a measure of the reflected power to ensure the stress is correct at the device being tested.
