Instrumentation Amplifier for the rectified dc output?

Hi everyone,

I have an application  in which, the rectified DC OUTPUT  and other DC voltage have to be substracted. Also this rectified Dc output has to be isolated with respect to the Load. FOR this purpose I used the AMP02 Instrumentation Amplifier.

Question :-

1.Is it ok to use he Instrumentation amplifier for this application?

2. IF so, Can the AMP02 be used with the Single Positive Supply ?

Kindly do the needful

  • Hi Rovin,

There could be two viable solutions for your application. An Instrumentation Amplifier or Difference Amplifier (Voltage Subtractor) could do the job. See below.

VA will be the "other DC Voltage" and VB will be the Rectified DC output.

The choice of which Amplifier to use would depend on your application requirements. We could indeed help you choose the appropriate amplifier if you would provide us that information.

    Regards.
