We are using HMC8410 Amplifier in our one of amplifier boards,
In one of the post I did see that there was a recommendation of HMC981 or HMC920.
Out of these two which would be best suitable for the HMC8410?
If HMC981 to be used, the VG2 can be left floating?
Will it follow all the sequencing required by the HMC8410 as mentioned in page 14 of HMC8410 datasheet ?
Can anyone please help me out.
Thanks & Regards,
Any of our active bias controllers (HMC920, HMC980, HMC981) will work for the HMC8410.
If using the HMC980 or HMC981, VG2 and VG2CONT can be left floating.
Either the HMC20 or the HMC981 can be used. I would suggest HMC981 as the current range is more in line with the HMC8410. Yes the VG2 can be left floating. With both the HMC920 and HMC981 the required bias sequencing required by the HMC8410 will be followed.
Thanks a lot for the clarification.
In the datasheet, there are 3 different application circuit in the images 2a,2b,2c.
Which of these modes the HMC8410 has to be used in?
If you are using only HMC8411 in your design. You would use Depletion / Master mode. referred to as Mode1 in table2 of the HMC981 datasheet and shown in Figure 2a.
Thanks for the clarification.
