Can AD8283 be applied as TIA(trans-impedance amplifier)?

Hi, I am trying to use AD8283 as an amplifier and ADC for visible light communication system. The signal of the silicon photodiode is usually amplified by TIA, but this is the first time I have used such a highly integrated IC. I wonder if the 6 LNAs in the AD8283 can be configured in TIA mode?

Or is there a better way to use its built-in LNA to capture the signal from the silicon photodiodes?

Have you seen the portfolio of Transimpedance Amplifiers like LTC6561 (quad, 220MHz) TIA, etc.:

I cannot tell how you would be able to configure the AD8283 as a TIA, but I'm not an expert on that device.

Hi ZhangYuchen,

Unfortunately, such a device cannot be used as a full- fledged transimpedance amplifier. You can 't close an external feedback loop.

Thank you for your reply! If I cannot use AD8283 as TIA directly, can I add an extra set of preamps for TIA？

Yes, of course, I think the only question here is how to use the differential input of AD8283 correctly

In principle, you can use a fully differential amplifier as a TIA, in this case the issue is solved by itself.
