Making Pedal Sensing Circuit Using Hall Effect IC

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to control water pump speed by using a pedal. i will put electronic card onto the stationary part of the pedal and a little circle magnet (radius=5 mm) onto the moving part of the pedal. When pedal is not pushed, there will not be any voltage value output of the electronic card(some little values may be). When moving part gets closer to the card output will increase depending on the distance of the magnet to the card. Now this is the question; can i do a little system like this by using hall sensor. i will put hall sensing citcuit onto card. Or can another solutions use for this pedal? I am talking about simple ones.

I am waiting for your quick answers.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
