ADA2200 - Choosing the right ADC

Hello there,

I want to use the ADA2200 to build a dual lock-in amplifier. In order to do so I want to use an ADC after it.

My question about the ADC is:

What are the important Parameter I have to look on when I want to use an ADC in connection with ADA2200?

Unfortunately the ADV in the datasheet didn't full fill my expectation, because it is only a 12 Bit ADC. I want to use an 32 Bit ADC to get an resolution in the range of nano Volts.

  • I am also interested in selecting an ADC to pair with the ADA2200 for use in a lock in amplifier application. I see the AD7170 is shown in the datasheet example (Fig 27) with the SYNCO signal from the ADA2200 connecting to it. I don't understand how this is implemented though as the AD7170 has an internal clock with no way to control or trigger the sampling. Is there a trick that I am missing?
