About the device S-parameters files
(HMC383LC4,HMC498LC4,HMC1040LP3CE,HMC1016)
To whom it may concern:FormerMemberlallisonanalog-adminstevebjobo23
We are going to design some PAs, using HMC383LC4,HMC498LC4,HMC1040LP3CE,HMC1016.
These S-parameters on theirs websites are avalable.
I want to know:
If these S-parameters are measured form theirs evaluation boards( which means the reference planes are the K connectors) or if these S-parameters have been deembedded ( which means the reference planes are the chip pins) .
Waitting for your response and thank you very much.

Hi abg,
Unless otherwise specified on the s2p filename or in the comment section at the top of the s2p file itself, s-parameters for RF amplifiers are not de-embedded, they represent the performance of the populated evaluation boards.
Best,
Kagan
Dear Kagan:
Thank you for your fast response to my questions:
I still have some questions in details. About the four devices(HMC383LC4,HMC498LC4,HMC1040LP3CE,HMC1016)'s S-parameters:
1. HMC383LC4
S-parameter file's name: "HMC383LC4 deembedded.s2p"
Details in the comment section of this file:"Vdd = +5V, data includes two Southwest connectors, Room "
----So I suppposed that maybe this S-parameter represent the performance of the populated evaluation boards. But the file name is wrong.
2. HMC498LC4
Details in the comment section of this file:"!Misc: Vdd1,2,3 = 5 V, Idd = 250 mA, data includes two Southwest (K) connectors, Room "
---So I suppposed that this represent the evaluation board.
Details in the comment section: none of related comment
---Because it is packaged device, so I suppposed that this represent the evaluation board.
Details in the comment section: "NO DE_EMBEDDING WAS DONE. Data was collected using an calibrated network analyzer. The reference plane is the microstrip launcher."
---This represent the evaluation board.
Are these above-mentioned judgments reasonable?
Thank you very much for your help and waitting for you response again.
Wish you have a good day!
