AD8671

Question

Hello 
 What is the maximum input current of the AD8671? 
 Because the power supply sequence of the AD8671 is as follow. 
 1)-5V is applied to the V- terminal 
 2)4V is applied to the +IN terminal 
 3)15V is applied to the V+ terminal 
 Since I think that the current is limited to 0.4mA with a 10k&Omega; resistor before the +IN terminal, we think that the device will not be dameged. 
 Is there a possibility that the device will be dameged under this condition. 
 Also please let me know the maximum input current of this device.

Hi, An Internal ESD diode will activate once you have supplied your +IN. Usually , we limit the current entering on the inputs by 5mA to avoid damaging the ESD cell . As long as you operate within the 5mA input current threshold it should be fine. Please be informed that there might be some slow long-term damage that doesn't fail the circuit right away. We still recommend powering it on simultaneously.
