What type of ADC amp front end is better soultion

Hi All

I am designing a front end for an Audio A2D who required differential input from a single ended source, I am  considering 2 approach for the front end :

the first approach is to use a discrete 3 OP-AMP who convert a single ended (audio source) into a differential signal required by the A2D

The 2nd approach is to use one fully differential OP-AMP like the AD8138 using the as an input and the(-) connected to GND.

Both design is powered by +/- 15V and 2.5V reference

Please help me to choose the best approach from the S/N and quality point of view.

Thank you

Yuval

Thread Notes

  • Hi Yuval,

May I know the input voltage range to your amplifier? Can you share your block diagram/schematic?  AD8138 operating supply range is up to + 5 V with an ICMVR of -4.7 to +3.4 V. If your input voltage is beyond this range, then AD8138 may not be appropriate for your application.
