ADC DRIVER SELECTION

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD7679

The ADC8021 is recommended as the driver for the AD7679. Could it be replaced with the AD8475 as differential driver no considering the Gain? thanks

  • Hi  ,

The AD8475 (10nV/√Hz) has higher noise voltage than AD8021(2.1nV/√Hz). Lower noise is preferred as per the requirements stated on the Driver Amplifier Choice section. (page 17 of datasheet). There is a huge SNR degradation due to the amplifier with 10nV/√Hz noise density. However, we can suggest AD8138 as an alternative (5nV/√Hz) if the application can tolerate more noise.
