I know that I'm looking for a high power op-amp, I just don't know how which. I'm applying a low frequency ( < 2Hz) signal, 0-5VDC to a voice coil motor. I don't know the impedence of the VCM, though I'm guessing about 8Ohms ( the resistance is by an ohm-meter is 4, someone told me doubling that probably isn't too stupid, but I'm guessing here). I'm just looking for guidance as to which of the high powered op amps would work. I'll need 0-5V on the output. If I could just find one or two that have the dev kit and might work that would be a great start for me.
One of our popular high current opamps is the ADA4870. It has a typical output current of 1A.
It has an evaluation boards available for order.
