I have a question about decoupling and bypass capacitors for ada4807. In datasheet its written one is ceramic and the other in parallel is tantalum. The question is can i use both ceramic caps instead of this tantalum or tantalum is necessary for the performance and must be used ?Thank you,
Most electronic devices today uses Multilayer ceramic capacitors because of the advantage in size, low ESR and low ESL.You can use a Multi-layer ceramic capacitor as a substitute for the tantalum capacitor depending on your application.
Tantalum capacitors are often used on high temperature application as they are less sensitive to its effects and on low noise applications where the piezoelectric effect cannot be tolerated unlike most ceramic capacitors where vibration or mechanical shock can be transformed into ac noise voltage.
For complete details regarding the advantages of different capacitor technologies please refer to this article:https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/application-notes/AN-1099.pdf
Thank you Dann, it helped alot :)
