I haven´t designed any filters since college and I don´t have the time to
refresh the concepts. How can I get back to speed with the filter design skills
it seems I need to get the AD8232 tuned to my needs?

Actually you don’t need to undust the old college books. Go to the AD8232
product web page, scroll down to section ´ Design Tools, Models, Drivers &
Software´ and download the ´AD8232 Filter Design Tool´. It will graphically
guide you through the band pass design and help you select the right values for
the required external resistors and capacitors. The tool will plot the
resulting transfer function (gain vs. frequency).
At the very least, a single order high pass filter is required. But the tool
allows you to implement also second order and third order high pass filter.
The low pass filter is optional but recommended.
