The ADI University program in the Philippines is comprised of many different activities that provide engineering students with the opportunity to further develop the theory and application of analog circuit design. The activities include:
University Caravan
The University Caravan is a program that promotes regular visits of ADI to various partner Universities for Recruitment, Technical Workshops and Company Talks. This includes the New College Graduate hiring program and Student visits to ADI Philippines. The New College Graduate program requires a team from Analog Devices composed of Hiring manager, Engineers and HR to visit the university to scout for the best and brightest graduating students. The identified top students will go through a selection process composed of technical examination and interview. Those that will pass our employment requirements will be given an opportunity to work for the company upon graduation. These have been very productive program in terms of hiring and promoting ADI as a Technology Company of choice for students.
University Caravan also includes conducting ADI company talks, Experts visits, Demonstration of ADI products and technology, and Training to Universities. This activity is seen to be effective in promoting ADI as world class Technology Company and an Employer of choice.
BS and MS Scholarship Program
The BS Scholarship Program is being offered to top students carefully selected from the Analog Devices Partner Universities. The identified top students will go through a qualification process composed of technical examination and interview. Those that will pass our BS scholarship selection process will be offered a scholarship from their current year in the course until they graduate. This program allows Analog Devices to connect to the best and brightest students while at the university and securing a job in Analog Devices upon completion of their engineering degree. Currently, the BS scholarship program is supporting 25 students who are taking courses on electronics and communication, computer and electrical engineering in different ADI partner Universities.
The onsite MS scholarship program is for incumbent employees who would like to pursue higher education. The program is available for employees who are graduates of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. The MS program is currently supporting 30 employees qualified through a selection process to enroll on the course. The present course is MS in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an option to major either in Microelectronics or in Control Systems. The MS program is being implemented in partnership with Mapua University, a respected Engineering University in Manila, Philippines. The classes are conducted within the premises of Analog Devices Philippines facility to make the program easily accessible to employees.
ADI Internship Program
The internship program is designed to allow students to be exposed to the work of an engineer. The program is available for graduating BS engineering and current MS students. The BS interns will be involved on test development, product and applications engineering work while the MS students will be exposed on chip design and layout work. This allows the students to be exposed to the current technology of Analog Devices. This should also provide the necessary training which will allow faster and easier adjustment for the student to transition from student work to real ADI engineering work.
Research and Development Collaboration
Research and Development collaboration is directed to a strategic ADI partner university who can provide innovative ideas aligned to ADI technology. There are several ongoing collaborations with various partner universities.
.
Technical Assistance to Students Developing Their Thesis and Projects
The technical assistance is geared towards assisting a BS engineering scholar of Analog Devices who has an ongoing thesis or project. The assistance is composed of the following:
- Access to an ADI product application engineer to help answer questions regarding thesis and projects using ADI parts.
- Provide access on hardware or evaluation boards to the student on a temporary basis to get data required in the project.
Technical Symposium
The annual Analog Devices Philippines Technical Symposium is now a venue of sharing the latest technical work of Analog Devices in the Philippines and the Academe. The technical symposium has several simultaneous tracks showcasing the work of the various engineering disciplines in ADI Philippines. Our university partners also could participate in this event through their submission of technical papers and technical demo booths. The event is seen to further enhance the learning on innovation, as ADI engineers and students see the actual working models of technical work coming from both Analog Devices and Academe.
