Number of SPI Bus required for multibeam forming

Contains AI Generated Content

Thread Summary

The user inquires about implementing multibeam forming with ADAR1000 and increasing the range to 5km. The support engineer confirms that multiple ADAR1000s can share the same SPI bus with different chip selects. For range calculation, the MATLAB 'radardesigner' app is recommended.

Q1. For Implementing Multibeam forming using adar1000 do each adar1000 require independent SPI Bus or shared SPI Bus will work ?

Q2. How to increase the range to 5km ?

  • Hi Mihirrr,

I don't know what you mean about multi beamforming.  Do you just mean using multiple ADAR1000's?  On the Phaser, the 2 ADAR1000s are on the same SPI bus, but different chip selects.  But you could also address the ADAR1000s differently and have them on the same chip select.

For figuring out range, you need to use a range calculator with your target's RCS.  I recommend the MATLAB "radardesigner" app for this.

      Hi Jon,

Got it, Thanks for MATLAB "radar designer" suggestion it is useful.

I have one more question: How are you using ripple counter and mux to toggle the TX switch at 128th chirps in your CN0566 Design.
