CN0566 "Phaser" - Raspberry Pi Ethernet Connection

The Python scripts can either run on the Pi itself, or remotely. If you install pyadi-iio and all dependencies on a Windows / Linux / Mac remote host, the scripts in https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/pyadi-iio/tree/main/examples/phaser should run just fine.

The scripts all have logic to detect whether it's being run on the Pi or remotely, for example:

Note that this assumes that the Pluto is plugged into the Pi, and that the phaser configuration script has been run that forwards the Pluto's context on port 50901. If you disconnect the Pluto and connect it directly to your remote host (keeping the Ethernet connection to the Pi), change this line:L

to:

my_sdr = ad9361(uri="ip:pluto.local")

Either way you intend to run the scripts (or additional code) in the end, having the ability to test things out directly on the Pi is a great reality check that everything's working.

I'm still confused though.

I haven't seen these links published in the YouTube video set. I intend to run the files published by Jon Kraft in the descriptions of the videos (PhaserRadarLabs). 

In order to run these, do I also have to include the files in the links you've posted here?

Ah, indeed it does look like Jon's scripts are intended to run locally on the Pi, for example:

That's probably the best place to start. If you wanted to migrate to a remote host, you can use the lines in the phaser_minimal_example above as a starting point.

No problem!  Yes, the scripts will run on either Rpi or the computer.  I normally run them on the computer, because its faster than the Rpi.  So in that mode, as Mark says, the Rpi is connected to the computer via ethernet and the Pluto is plugged into the computer via USB (i.e. it is not plugged into the Rpi).
