Rx1 Tx1 behavior compared to Rx2 Tx2

Category: Hardware
Product Number: pluto sdr

I have a Pluto sdr for some time now bought new from mouser and it’s subpar on Tx1 power and Rx1 sensitivity. I have checked the transmitted power with a spectrum analyzer and there are noticeable deeps and peaks in frequencies, for example it’s unable to reach above -10dBm on any frequency below 1GHz. It is transmitting close to 0dbm only on a narrow band around 2GHz. Also the Rx sensitivity is subpar to any other cheap sdr, you need to almost max out the Gain to hear an FM station that can be easily received by a cheap rtl sdr.  The same problems don’t exist on Rx2 and Tx2. Those seem to work properly and in any case significantly better (out of curiosity I enabled those to check them out using sma connectors after the disappointing performance of rx1 tx1). So my question is, are there any suggestions what to check? Most software is using by default rx1 tx1 so the performance of rx2 tx2 cannot always solve the task.
