Adalm Pluto Burst Mode

Question

Hi, 
 I need to clarify that when does ADALM PLUTO start sampling in burst mode? Does it perform it when we initialize or call the sdrReceiver() method? What happens in between them? What is its difference from the normal operation mode? For example, does it perform the same thing when I set sdrReceiver.numFramesInBurst = 1 ? Also what else happens in between consecutive calls to sdrReceiver() method in burstMode?

 Bascially what it does internally is set the number of kernel buffers (https://codedocs.xyz/analogdevicesinc/libiio/group__Device.html#gabda6d5a2ce3500204a022702c3c925fe) to 1. This will make successive buffers discontiguous but you can capture the largest possible contiguous buffer. This is from the device itself. 
 The FramesInBurst setting will split that received buffer into smaller vectors on the host side to something you want. So once you step through those FramesInBurst the next buffer is discontiguous, but the next FramesInBurst buffers will be contiguous. 
 When not in burst mode the system is more elastic since there are several buffers used in the hardware. 4 by default. As long as you can pull data from these buffers fast enough you can contiuously stream without dropping samples. However, if you overflow then it can be difficult to determine which buffers are discontiguous since these reports are not synchronized with the buffers themselves in MATLAB.
