I've posted this issue here before: the fact that the selection check marks in the AWG pull down menus don't update on Macs, even though the code correctly registers the user's choices.
I've determined this to be specific to the HomeBrew installation of python. If you install python using the package installer from the Python site, it works fine. It will also override the HomeBrew installation at the command line. The two versions are both 3.8.5, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
I have not tested it with Macports or Anaconda python, and would be interested in hearing anyone's experience.
