While performing LFM radar experiments using PlutoSDR in GNU Radio, a 10 m RF cable was used as a direct TX–RX loopback for testing. However, the received signal was not always visible, and sometimes no RX signal was obtained at all. Even when the signal was received, the processed data did not produce the correct beat frequency corresponding to the 10 m range, which resulted in inaccurate range estimation. These issues were mainly due to improper signal scaling, high TX attenuation, and unsuitable RX gain settings in the PlutoSDR configuration.
