Hi,

I am trying to use ADALM1000 impedance analyzer.

It seems working correctly if I measured resistor. But if I measured capacitor, its value seems not correct.

I tried to perform calibration with:

  • You shouldn't need to do any (DC) calibration, the factory calibration should be good enough.

    Have you tried the example in the "Impedance Analyzer / LCR Meter" section of this page on the Wiki?

    To help you use the AC impedance analyzer virtual instrument I'm going to need some additional details on your setup.

    First, what range of capacitance are you trying to measure? Very small values will be swamped by the input capacitance of the M1k (~400pF). Second what value of external test resistance are you using? Again you need to pick a resistor value such that the RC time constant of the cap under test and the resistor is reasonable when compared to the test frequency. Which I guess is the third question, at what frequency are you testing the cap? In general the measurement will only be as accurate as the known (value entered) Rext resistor you are testing against.

    For small values of capacitance, around the M1k input capacitance, you can "Null Out" the parasitic by doing an open circuit test as it were (no cap connected) and clicking on the Zero button under the Capacitance Offset heading.
