Hi akladha,
The I2C interface is used to factory program the EEPROM as well as communicate with the LTC2992 current monitor. Details for the LTC2992 can be found on the ADAR1000EVAL1Z wiki. If you are replicating the reference design using the Xilinx ZCU102 as the controller and the provided boot files, then power sequencing is handled automatically upon boot up.
